Pocket Survival - Tools of the Trade (1 Day)
Course Description
A practical one-day woodland-based course focused on the tools and equipment commonly found in survival kits, survival tins, and compact field loadouts.
This session is designed to give you hands-on experience using small, portable survival items in realistic outdoor conditions. Rather than focusing on theory, we explore how individual tools perform in the field, their limitations, and how they can be combined effectively in a survival situation.
Throughout the day you’ll work with a range of compact survival equipment including navigation aids, fire-starting tools, water treatment methods, shelter materials, and basic repair and fieldcraft items.
Course Details
Price: £90 per person - minimum 2 participants
Duration: 7 hours - 9.30am to 4.30pm
Location: Aberfoyle, Woodland
This course is delivered on an on-demand basis. Once booked, a suitable date will be arranged.
What We Cover
Using a button compass for basic navigation and orientation
Practical application of wire saws and compact cutting tools
Water collection and transport using improvised containers
Water purification methods including tablets and basic treatment
Fire lighting using magnification tools in suitable conditions
Basic gear repair using compact sewing and repair kits
Setting up a simple fishing kit for emergency food procurement
Emergency shelter construction using lightweight thermal blanket systems
Understanding the strengths and limitations of common survival tin equipment
