GRID NORTH - Daytime Navigation Course
‘Grid North’ is designed with the total beginner in mind. Someone who want’s to learn all the essential map and compass navigation techniques they’ll need to keep themselves safe on the hill or in wild locations.
It’s based in Pollok Country Park which allows us to focus on learning in a safe and controlled environment, to make it easy to attend on public transport and without having to rely on perfect weather conditions, and for the surprisingly varied terrain and features the area offers.
It’s also the perfect course to attend if you want to refresh past knowledge, to keep your skills sharp, or simply try something a bit different for a day out.

What will I need to attend this course?
Suitable outdoor clothing, warm layers and a waterproof jacket.
Footwear for wet, muddy, slippery ground.
The ability to cover un-even ground off the path, including some short sections with uphill and downhill slopes (this will all be at an easy pace).
What kit is provided?
Maps and compasses are provided for use during the course.
