Nightfinder - Introduction to Night Navigation (3 Hours)
Course Description
A brand new night navigation session for anyone who wants to gain some skills and confidence in using a map after dark, as we head into those shorter days.
It’s based in Pollok Country Park which allows us to focus on learning in a safe and controlled environment, to make it easy to attend on public transport and without having to rely on perfect weather conditions.
It wouldn’t be an AKM course without a few survival skills thrown in, so we’ll also look at techniques that you can use to signal for help at night.
Visibility is obviously much more limited compared to a daytime course - so this is the perfect way to really focus on some of the core navigation skills in a safe environment. Aside from that, it’s just a really fun course and it transforms the park - even if you know it well in the daytime.
We have even had couples on the course as an alternative date night!
